BioEnergy Test

BioEnergy Test is a patented computer driven program developed by the Nevada Centre of Alternative and Anti-Aging Medicine that utilizes respiratory oxygen uptake and carbon dioxide production analysis to measure the body’s mitochondrial functional dynamics including ATP generation, fatty acid metabolism and glucose metabolism.  This technology is able to verify that a decrease in energy production exists LONG BEFORE any signs or evidence of mitochondrial decay or aging occurs.  This early decrease in energy production is caused by two primary factors: decreased fatty acid utilization and decreased mitochondrial oxidation efficiency.  It is precisely this early decrease in energy production that is ultimately responsible for the observed mitochondrial decay that is associated with aging.  By recognizing this early decrease in energy production and reversing or improving it to youthful levels, it is possible to delay and even reverse the processes of aging and mitochrondrial decay.  Poor mitochondrial function is the root cause of every disease, obesity, and even the very process of aging itself.

Resting metabolic rate and VO2 maximum output during progressively more difficult exercise are measured.   The Bio-Energy Testing® computer program then calculates:

  2. Resting fat metabolism.

  3. Maximal mitochondrial efficiency.

  4. Maximal fat metabolism.
